Marketing department – The major roles of this department is to increase the market share of the company, grow revenue and increase profitability (Hermanson, Edwars & Ivancevich, 2005). This is usually achieved through events, advertising, promotions and publications. A customer service assistant is important so as to handle any queries that customers may raise concerning the products especially following advertisements or promotions.

Research and development – The research and development department must work hand in hand with the customer care department. A customer care assistant provides valuable information about what customers want to the R & D department (Hermanson, Edwars & Ivancevich, 2005).

Communication – The communication arm is crucial in developing a positive image about of the organization and its products. A customer service assistant would be helpful in ensuring that the organization maintains a positive image with its customers by addressing their concerns or feedback.

The human resource department – A customer service assistant would be necessary to this department by ensuring flow of information between the department and employees. In addition, the customer service assistant may be responsible for training and development of new employees.
